Welcome
March 2011 - The Riding Season
Thanks for taking a look at Twin Cities Rider. This is our
fifth issue of what we hope will become your favourite source for
motorcycle, scooter and moped information in the Minneapolis & St. Paul
area.
What Will the 2011 Season
Bring?
Not that we couldn't get buried under more snow... but at SOME point,
spring has to return to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. What will this
year's riding season bring? CLICK HERE for
our forecast.
Women's Mesh Jacket
Review
Jordana actually did this review back in the summer of 2010, but I thought
we'd bring it to you in anticipation of the gorgeous spring riding weather
that just HAS TO be right around the corner... please. OK,
she's had the jacket since summer of 2010, but wrote the review just the
other day. That means she's had lots of time to think about she did (and
didn't) like. CLICK HERE to read
Jordana's review.
Spring Prep
Marty Mataya from Go
Moto joins us again. This time Marty has some tips for us on getting
our motorcycles and scooters ready for that spring ride. Really, honestly,
any day now, just you watch. CLICK HERE for
Marty's article.
Carburetor Cleaning Basics
Greg Stewart of
Classic
Motorworks (Royal Enfield) makes his first appearance at Twin
Cities Rider to give us a quick primer on the basics of carburetor
cleaning. Some of you may know Greg as "Scooter Bob", though not
THAT Scooter Bob (Bob Hedstrom of Scooterville) who is
actually more commonly known as the Scooter Villain. Yeah, I know, Bob's
name is "Bob" while Scooter Bob's name is Greg... go figure. If trying to
sort it all out gives you a headache, just
CLICK HERE and read about carburetors instead.
Several features of this website are not necessarily
associated with any single issue of Twin Cities Rider, but are here as
resources for you. Our calendar page features a
list of events in the Twin Cities area. The links
page includes lists of area dealers and
shops as well as
groups & clubs. If you just can't get enough
blather about motorcycles and scooters, check out the
Two-Wheels-And-A-Motor podcasts or the
Just-Gotta-Scoot podcasts. We have recently added a "Sales
Corner" for local readers looking to sell (or buy). It was
empty when I wrote this, so please let me know
if you have something you want to post there. Of course it goes without saying that we
desperately hope you will visit our
sponsors and give them a chance to earn your business.
Twin Cities Rider will be published (more or less)
monthly during the riding season and as appropriate during the winter. You
can SUBSCRIBE HERE to receive email
notification of new issues. Please CONTACT US if
you have any questions or comments.
